Dr. Philip Stewart is a Lecturer at the School of the Environment, The University of Queensland (UQ), with a PhD in fire ecology from UQ. He has extensive international experience in nature conservation, national park management, wildlife capture/translocation, and fire ecology across Namibia, South Africa, and Australia. Additionally, he serves as a Research Fellow with the Applied Behavioural Ecology and Ecological Research Unit (ABEERU) at the University of South Africa.

His research spans fire ecology, biodiversity conservation, invasive species management, and climate change adaptation, with recent publications focusing on ecosystem services, fire regimes, and environmental impacts of climate change.
