Mike Letnic

Professor Mike Letnic is an ecologist at the Faculty of Science, UNSW Sydney, where he has worked since 2012. His research focuses on understanding ecosystem dynamics through experimental science and large-scale spatial-temporal studies, with applications in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and wildlife management. Key areas include apex predator management, invasive species impacts, rewilding, reintroduction biology, fire ecology, and arid ecosystem functioning. He actively communicates findings through media engagement.

• BSc in Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at UNSW Sydney
• PhD in Desert Ecology at University of Sydney
