Professor Phil Vickerman serves as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), leading strategic initiatives to enhance student-centered education and inclusivity. He holds a dual role as Professor of Inclusive Education and Learning, focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) in Physical Education and broader educational equity. His work emphasizes seamless integration of teaching, support services, and social engagement to ensure diverse student needs are met.
Research interests span inclusive pedagogy, SEND in PE teacher training, and policy advocacy. Notable achievements include the National Teaching Fellowship (2005) and Principal Fellow status from the Higher Education Academy.
