Phil Uhlmann is a Senior Lecturer in the Finance Department at Bentley University. He holds a Ph.D. from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, an MBA from the University of Toronto, and a B.Commerce from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Uhlmann serves on the Study Abroad Evaluation Committee, Steering Committee, and acts as Program Director for the MSSc program.

His research spans international banking, country risk assessment, and the financial impact of political business cycles, with a geographic focus on Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Peru, and Turkey. Dr. Uhlmann’s work bridges academic theory with practical applications in financial institutions and capital markets.
Teaching interests include International Project Finance, Capital Markets, Foundations in Accounting, and Corporate Finance. He has extensive consulting experience in international banking risk management, sovereign credit ratings, and infrastructure finance.
