Phil Stone

Phil Stone is a Senior Lecturer in Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education. He teaches on the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) science courses and serves as a lead mentor for partnership schools across the south-east of England. He also leads the university's Education Research Schools Partnership (ERSP) initiative.

Prior to his career in education, he worked in industry in science-related roles.

Dr Stone's research focuses on teachers' professional development and professional learning leadership. He is particularly interested in the role of middle leadership in schools and how it contributes to the professional growth of teachers.

He serves as a lead mentor for partnership schools, providing support and guidance to teachers. Additionally, through the ERSP initiative, he fosters collaboration between the university and schools for conducting educational research.
