Dr. Peter Sloane is a Senior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Buckingham, part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences within the Faculty of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences. His research focuses on 20th and 21st century global anglophone literatures, with emphases on migration, refugee, and genocide studies. His current monograph, Always Again: World Literature and Post-Holocaust Genocide, examines post-holocaust genocide writing across global fiction and life writing. Peter welcomes research students in modern literature topics from 1900 to the present.
Education: He holds a BA, MPhil, and PhD in English from the University of Bristol.
Research interests include experimental literary forms, posthumanism, and cultural studies. His recent publications span monographs on Kazuo Ishiguro and David Foster Wallace, edited volumes on Claire Denis’s films and contemporary authorship, and peer-reviewed analyses of genocide narratives and cinematic techniques. He also engages in academic labor advocacy, as seen in his 2023 Times Higher Education article on union bargaining.
