Dr. Peter Riedel serves as Lecturer for special assignments in History and its Didactics at Bielefeld University's Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology, Department of History. Dr. Riedel specializes in medieval ecclesiastical history with particular expertise in the late medieval Diocese of Brandenburg. His research examines episcopal action forms and fields, monastic history, and historical didactics. His doctoral work focused on the question "'Gladium spiritualem vibravit'? Forms and fields of episcopal action in the late medieval Diocese of Brandenburg" completed at University of Potsdam in 2016. He has coordinated the "Brandenburg Monastery Book" project and maintains active consultation hours through July 2025.
Dr. Riedel has received recognition as a Fellow of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation during his doctoral studies (2007-2010).
He serves as module responsible for 22-2.4_a Subject-Didactic Methodology Module and maintains regular consultation hours at Building X A4-205, with office hours available until July 25th and by appointment during semester breaks.
