Research: Dr. Nigrovic directs a basic and translational research laboratory focused on mechanisms of inflammation in arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. His work spans neutrophil biology, megakaryocyte immune functions, T-cell memory in joints, and genetic insights into arthritis pathogenesis. He leads the NIAMS-funded Joint Biology Consortium for collaborative arthritis research.
Publications: Research spans immunology, rheumatology, and translational medicine with recent focus on cytokine networks, autoimmune biomarkers, and neutrophil heterogeneity. Work demonstrates strong emphasis on pediatric applications and molecular mechanisms of inflammation.
Awards:
- Elected to American Society for Clinical Investigation (2018)
