He serves as Vice President for Research at the Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin and Associate Director at the Blood Research Institute. His research focuses on vascular cell adhesion, platelet signaling, and molecular mechanisms of thrombosis and hemostasis.
Scientific interests include:
- Adhesion molecules in vascular biology
- Integrin signaling pathways
- PECAM-1 structure and function
- Thrombosis and hemorrhage prevention
- Mouse models of platelet disorders
Recent publications highlight work on PECAM-1's role in endothelial barrier function, CRISPR-based platelet antigen modification, and integrin/kinase interactions in platelet activation. Grants include NIH R01 HL40926, P01-HL44612, and HL-07209 training support.
