About
Professor Peter Griffiths is a Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Greenwich, affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and Science. With expertise in nanotechnology (colloid science), polymer dynamics, and drug delivery systems, he has pioneered research in polymer-polymer interactions, surfactant-polymer complexes, and biomedical applications of nanomaterials.
- PhD in Polymer Chemistry (University of Bristol, 1991)
- Postdoctoral Research: University of Bristol (1991-1993), KTH Stockholm (1993-1995)
His research spans NMR methodology, self-assembled nanomaterials, and colloidal stability. Recent work focuses on hierarchical porous materials, chiral recognition in surfactant-polymer systems, and mucosal drug delivery. Key techniques include solvent-relaxation NMR, SANS, and electrophoretic NMR.
Professor Griffiths has received significant honors: DSc (Bristol, 2005), Docenture (KTH, 2005), and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2002). He has also earned distinguished service awards from the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
