Peter Falloon

Dr. Peter Falloon is a Research Fellow in the Fluid Science and Resource (FSR) Group at the University of Western Australia. He manages the UWA Energy and Resources Digital Interoperability (ERDi) Industry 4.0 Testlab and develops the ThermoFAST thermodynamic property calculator. His academic background includes BSc (Hons) and MSc from UWA, and a joint PhD in theoretical physics from UWA and Université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg, France).

His research focuses on thermodynamic modeling for natural gas, LNG, ammonia, and hydrogen systems. Key areas include solid-fluid equilibrium, cryogenic phase behavior, and computational methods using Mathematica and Fortran. He has contributed to over 16 peer-reviewed publications and led industry-focused projects like the ERDi Testlab and FEnEX CRC initiatives.

Current projects include optimizing LNG production processes, avoiding sulfur compound freeze-out, and digital twin feasibility studies. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to clean energy and industry innovation.

Grants and collaborations involve partnerships with industry leaders such as ExxonMobil and METS Ignited, addressing challenges in energy exports and resource processing. Falloon's expertise spans software development, mathematical modeling, and experimental cryogenic studies.
