Peter Edwin Caines is a Professor and holds the Distinguished James McGill Professorship and Macdonald Chair in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at McGill University. His research focuses on systems and control theory, particularly stochastic systems, hybrid/nonlinear systems, and mean field stochastic control with applications in engineering, communications, economics, and biology.
Research interests include filtering, identification, adaptive control, and the theoretical foundations of stochastic control. His work extends to interdisciplinary applications in networks, economics, and biological systems.
