About
Professor Peter Ashman is a Professor in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Centre for Energy Technology (CET) and the HILT CRC as Program Leader for Cross-Cutting Technologies. His research focuses on clean energy, hydrogen production and utilization, biomass, bioenergy, and solar thermal energy.
He leads projects on hydrogen blending safety, solar-driven gasification, and biomethane production. Collaborations include the University of Queensland and Melbourne, and he co-leads the Future Fuels CRC’s End-use Appliances working group. Current work addresses hydrogen’s role in decarbonizing industries and optimizing polygeneration systems.
Technical-economic assessments of hydrogen production, solar hybrid systems, and agglomeration mitigation in gasification are key contributions. His lab uses a 50kW solar simulator for large-scale experiments.
