Pervez N. Ghauri

Pervez N. Ghauri is Professor of International Business at the Department of Strategy and International Business, Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. He has held prominent academic positions across Europe, including at King’s College London, Manchester Business School, University of Groningen, and Oslo Business School, contributing significantly to international business education and PhD programme development.

Professor Ghauri's research centers on multinational enterprises (MNEs), emerging markets, sustainable development, and international business negotiations. He leads major funded projects exploring how MNEs can contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals by serving marginalized communities, ethical behavior in international business, and digital innovation for inclusive development. His work bridges theory and practice, with real-world impact through initiatives like the IDModel app developed with Oxford University.

His recent publications highlight a strong focus on sustainable international business, digital transformation, MNE strategies in emerging markets, and the socio-political dimensions of globalization. Key themes include inclusive business models, corporate social innovation, economic nationalism, and the internationalization of new ventures in the digital era.

He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Centre of International Business at Leeds University Business School and as a visiting professor at over 20 institutions worldwide.
