Perry de Valpine is Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley. He holds a PhD in Ecology from UC Davis (2000) and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Yale University (1993). His research develops mathematical models and statistical methods for complex ecological systems, with focus on computational frameworks for hierarchical modeling.
