Perry D Drake serves as Associate Teaching Professor and Department Chair of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Business Administration. His educational background includes a PhD in Education Technology from UMSL (2013-2017), an MS in Statistics from the University of Iowa (1985-1986), and a BS in Economics from UMSL (1980-1984). Prior to joining UMSL in 2013, he spent 14 years as an Assistant Professor at New York University.
Dr. Drake specializes in digital and social media marketing, with research interests spanning database marketing, web analytics, social media strategy, and the integration of technology in marketing education. His work focuses on how digital channels transform consumer behavior and marketing practices, particularly examining shopping cart abandonment, social media ethics, and the evolution of the purchase funnel in the digital age.

As Department Chair and faculty advisor to both the Marketing Advisory Board and Marketing Club, Dr. Drake oversees curriculum development for digital marketing programs. He founded and directs the Midwest Digital Marketing Conference (MDMC), an annual event attracting over 2,000 attendees featuring speakers from major tech companies. He also supervises student-run digital media initiatives including YouTube channels, podcasts, and blogs for the College of Business.
Dr. Drake oversees the implementation of digital marketing certification programs through UMSL's Continuing Education division and maintains strong industry connections that inform his curriculum development in emerging areas like Google Analytics, Facebook advertising, and CRM strategies.
