Pernilla Liedgren is a Senior Lecturer at Mälardalen University's School of Health, Care and Social Welfare, Division of Social Work. She has held academic positions at Ersta Sköndal University and Dalarna University before joining Mälardalen University in 2016. Her teaching focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of social work, including both campus and digital formats.
- PhD from Lund University (2007): Dissertation on "To become, to be and to have been" analyzing entrance and exit processes of Jehovah's Witnesses
Research interests include poverty, over-indebtedness, professional identity of social workers, and evidence-based practices. Previously researched social aspects of religious movements. Skilled in qualitative methods (interviews, focus groups, vignettes) and quantitative analysis (surveys, reviews).
Recipient of the 'Excellent teacher' designation since 2016. Currently oversees personal and professional development for social work students at Mälardalen University.
