Pere Puigserver

Pere Puigserver, PhD, is a Professor of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School and a researcher at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Department of Cancer Biology. His laboratory investigates metabolic and energetic processes critical to cell survival and disease, with a focus on cancer, metabolic disorders, and age-related conditions. Dr. Puigserver holds affiliations with both Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where his lab is based in the Center for Life Sciences Boston (CLSB).

He earned his B.S. and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and Biochemistry from the University of Illes Balears, Spain, and completed postdoctoral training at Dana-Farber and Harvard Medical School. His research integrates molecular, cellular, and chemical biology approaches to uncover mechanisms linking nutrient sensing to metabolic reprogramming in tumors and other diseases. Key areas include mitochondrial biology, cancer metabolism, and the interplay between tumor metabolism and immune responses.
