Pei Lay Yap

Dr. Pei Lay Yap is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. Their core research focuses on functional materials for environmental and sustainability applications, including water purification and CO₂ capture technologies. Dr. Yap also specializes in developing characterization methods for 2D materials like graphene-related 2D materials (GR2Ms), employing techniques such as TGA, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, and microscopy. They are eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students in these areas. Recent work emphasizes material design for efficient pollutant removal, CO₂ adsorption dynamics, and nanocomposite development for biomedical and environmental applications. Active in international collaborations, Dr. Yap’s research contributes to advancing sustainable material solutions.
