Paula Becker is a PartTime Lecturer and MFA Advisor in Fibers at the Art & Design department of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's College of Visual & Performing Arts.
- 1993 MFA in Fibers from Cranbrook Academy of Art
- 1984 BFA in Textile Design from UMass Dartmouth (then SMU)
Her artistic practice explores memory through fiber art, weaving, and textile design. She has exhibited extensively at institutions such as Cranbrook Art Museum, RISD Museum, and Fuller Craft, with works in notable collections including those of Robert Pfannebecker and Gerhardt Knodel. Her research includes hand-weaving Loja Saarinen reproduction textiles for the Cranbrook Center of Collections and Research (1992–2022).
Becker has taught as an adjunct professor at Jefferson University (PCT&S), RISD, and UMass Dartmouth. She conducted a workshop and solo exhibition titled “Memory and Memorabilia” and “Unraveling” at Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan.
