Her artistic and academic work explores the intersection of craft and art, focusing on functionality, material provenance, and the role of woven objects in daily life. She uses traditional techniques on antique looms and emphasizes natural fibers such as linen, wool, and hemp. Her practice is deeply informed by historical weaving methods learned through residencies at institutions like the Marshfield School of Weaving and the Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio.
Marina's collaborations with designers such as Evan Kinori reflect her commitment to locally sourced, sustainable textile production. While no formal publications are listed, her work demonstrates a consistent engagement with themes of materiality, tradition, and the embodied process of making.
She has held artist residencies at:
- Castello di Potentino
- A-Z West (Andrea Zittel)
- Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, Florence
- Marshfield School of Weaving, Vermont
Marina is actively engaged in both artistic creation and academic teaching, contributing to the discourse around textile arts as both functional and conceptual practices.
