Associate Professor Paul Osmond is an academic at the UNSW School of Built Environment, specializing in sustainable urban development. He holds a PhD in Built Environment from UNSW and has worked since the 1980s in environmental sustainability across academia, government, and consultancy.
His research focuses on green infrastructure, urban climate adaptation, urban metabolism, and ecosystem services. Notable projects include the Living Infrastructure Strategy for Randwick (2022) and the Urban Heat Strategy for Wollongong (2023), both recognized with industry awards. He advises on green building standards via the Green Building Council of Australia and editorial boards of Urban Morphology, Urban Planning, and Architecture.
