Dr Paul Matthew is a Lecturer in Design (Built Environment) at the School of Architecture, Design and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology at The University of Queensland. He holds a PhD in Architecture from the same institution (2021) and specializes in sustainable building design, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.
His research focuses on adapting buildings for climate change, particularly in remote Indigenous communities and urban redevelopment contexts. Notable works include studies on housing design for health in semi-arid regions and life cycle analysis of building materials. He has contributed to projects like the Bethany Nursing Home adaptive reuse design and participated in panel discussions on the future of architecture.
