Paul M Hillier

Paul M Hillier is an Associate Professor in the Communication Department at The University of Tampa. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia (2008), an M.A. from George Washington University (2003), and a B.A. from Eckerd College (2001). Prior to joining UT, he taught at the University of Georgia and received their 2007 Outstanding Teaching Award.

His research focuses on television studies, American visual culture, and intersections between media, technology, and U.S. society. He has published on the history of Reality TV, connecting P.T. Barnum's "playful frauds" to modern iterations like Survivor, and is currently examining portrayals of social class in media.
