Paul Geck

Paul Geck is a Professor and Department Chair in the History Department at Cal Poly Humboldt, serving since 2006. He specializes in teaching Western Civilization, U.S. History, and World Cultures. His academic leadership roles include Director of the History Education Concentration Program (2014–2023), Chair of the Social Science Secondary Education Review Committee (2014–2023), and Campus Coordinator for Humboldt County History Day (2014–2023). He has also served on the University Senate (2013–2015, 2024–2026).

Geck holds an M.A. from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical analysis of historical narratives and academic writing skills.
