Paul D Jones is a Lecturer in Fine Art at the Department of Art, Goldsmiths, University of London. His practice spans drawing, sculpture, print-making, painting, and animation, exploring themes of science fiction, Caribbean-British identity, liminality, and the tension between natural and artificial systems.
Research interests include genetic modification, transformation, and the ethical implications of scientific progress. His scientific awards include the 2015 Studio Bursary Award, 2004 Mark Tanner Sculpture Award, and a 2001 residency at S-AIR, Japan.
Recent artworks such as Science Laboratory (2025) and Bio-Morph-Thing (2023) blend craftsmanship with digital fabrication. Current projects merge South London housing estate imagery with Caribbean postcards and examine DIY CRISPR kits through wood-based installations.
