Paul Calluzzo is an Associate Professor & Toller Family Fellow of Finance at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Rutgers University and a B.A. in Economics from Williams College. His research focuses on institutional investors, corporate governance, mutual fund performance, and empirical asset pricing. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, and Journal of Corporate Finance, and featured in media like The Globe and Mail and Bloomberg.
Calluzzo’s academic career includes roles such as Distinguished Faculty Fellow of Finance (2018–2019) and Assistant Professor (2014–2020). His research has explored topics like mutual fund boardroom dynamics, SEC scrutiny strategies, and LGBTQ corporate policies. He has received awards including the Hillsdale Investment Management Research Award (2020) and the Best Paper Award from Corporate Governance: An International Review (2019).
His teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in Investment Analysis, Financial Management, and Corporate Finance. He has supervised MSc students, including Lutfi Nahin (in progress), Morteza Talezadeh (2021), and Hamed Moradian (2021). Calluzzo’s grants include SSHRC funding and support from CPA Ontario and the Smith School of Business.
