Paul A. Potier

Dr. Paul A. Potier is Professor of the Practice in the Department of Marine Engineering Technology at Texas A&M University. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University (2012), MS from University of Texas at Austin (1987), and BS from Lamar University (1981). He holds PMP certification.

His research explores wireless communications and network management, particularly cognitive radio ad hoc networks, spectrum management, and anomaly detection in wireless systems. His technical interests originated from audio electronics and expanded to communications, computing, and robotics.

Dr. Potier teaches courses covering marine engineering fundamentals, electrical power systems, marine electronics, engineering economics, and capstone projects. His professional experience includes leadership roles at Austin Community College, Motorola, Exxon, and IBM.
