Professor Patrick Wheeler holds an Honorary Clinical Professorship in Sport & Exercise Medicine at Loughborough University, where he has been employed since 2013. He concurrently serves as a Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust since 2009, and as Head of Service in the Sports Medicine Department since 2023. He leads the Intercalated Medical Student Programme and an MSc module on sports injury risk factors at Loughborough. His research focuses on chronic tendinopathies, particularly plantar fasciitis, and sports medicine practices.
