Patricia A. Stokowski is a Professor in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont, specializing in the social and cultural dimensions of outdoor recreation, tourism, and community development. Her work focuses on place-making, cultural landscapes, and qualitative methods like discourse analysis. She has conducted long-term research on gambling tourism in Colorado and authored books including Riches and Regrets: Betting on Gambling in Two Colorado Mountain Towns (1996) and Leisure in Society: A Network Structural Perspective (1994).
