Dr. Patricia Literte is Associate Professor of Sociology at California State University, Fullerton, where she researches race relations, higher education access, and urban inequality. She serves as Academic Coordinator for the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Scholars program.
Her work examines Black-Latino/a relations in educational settings, historically Black sorority members' attitudes toward LGBTQ+ communities, and the experiences of multiracial students. Literte explores how institutions adapt to changing racial demographics and the formation of cross-racial coalitions.
Publications analyze competition and coalition-building in higher education, identity challenges for biracial students, and organizational cultures within Black sororities. She teaches courses on social inequality, race relations, urban sociology, and gender studies.
