Pascal Flurin Meier is a Swiss PostDoc in Strategy at the University of Zurich (PhD in Business & Economics, 2023). He holds a Senior Assistant position in the Department of Business Administration, under the Chair of Strategic Management & Business Policy led by Prof. Dr. Egon Franck. In 2024, he became a visiting scholar at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, and in 2025 will join HEC Paris as a visiting fellow. His research focuses on behavioral strategy, strategic leadership, and corporate governance, emphasizing the cognitive and social dynamics of top executives and boards. He employs quantitative methods with causal inference, analyzing decisions like CEO succession, M&A strategies, and boardroom appointments.
Research interests include the impact of social and cognitive forces on executive decision-making, particularly in boardroom dynamics and strategic outcomes. His work draws from the Carnegie School, emphasizing individual-level analysis over organizational units. Methodologically, he prioritizes fine-grained, hand-collected executive data.
His publications span topics like outcome bias in managerial evaluations, CEO dismissal under performance pressure, and belief formation among financial analysts. He is reachable at pascal-flurin.meier@business.uzh.ch for collaboration inquiries.
