Parvin Peivandi is a Lecturer at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, specializing in interdisciplinary artwork that explores material culture, affective potentials of art, and social/political contexts. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her exhibitions include solo shows at Amazigh Contemporary (Chicago) and Trapp Projects (Vancouver), alongside group exhibitions at Expo Chicago and Polygon Gallery.
Research interests focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives and new materialist theories in art and literature. She has taught courses such as Core Interdisciplinary Studio, Ceramics, and 3D Materials + Media.
Awards include the Illinois Emerging Artist Award and NCECA 2021 Multicultural Award. Her textile work was nominated for the Brandford/Elliot Award by the Textile Society of America.
