Liz Magor is an Associate Professor at Emily Carr University of Art + Design within the Faculty of Visual Art + Material Practice. Her practice focuses on sculptural works that repurpose ordinary or familiar objects, emphasizing process, material intelligence, and the distinction between physical objects and pictorial representations.
She is an internationally recognized visual artist with an extensive exhibition history, including participation in Documenta 8 (Kassel, Germany), the Sydney Biennale, and the Venice Biennale. Solo exhibitions include a survey at the Vancouver Art Gallery and PowerPlant in Toronto, with her touring exhibition "The Mouth and other storage facilities" originating at the Henry Art Museum in Seattle.
