About
Parveen is a Research Associate at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in the Sadewasser Research Group, focusing on atomic-scale studies of hydrogenation and oxidation in catalytic nanomaterials for hydrogen production via water splitting. Previously, he worked at the University of Manchester (2022-2023) on proton permeation in 2D materials and at IIT Roorkee (Feb-Sep 2024) on Physical Vapor Deposition of TMDC materials for optoelectronics.
His academic qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering (2009) from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, India
- Master of Technology in VLSI Design (2012) from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India
- PhD (2021) from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, India, with thesis on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy of single organic molecular devices
Parveen's research bridges nanotechnology and energy materials, specializing in catalytic processes for sustainable hydrogen production, surface science of 2D materials, and advanced nanoscale characterization. His expertise includes Low Temperature Scanning Tunneling Microscopy under Ultra-High Vacuum conditions, Density Functional Theory simulations, and microfabrication of organic/MOF thin films for memristor applications. Current work at INL explores proton conductivity mechanisms in graphene and catalytic nanomaterials for energy conversion.
As part of the Sadewasser Research Group, he utilizes state-of-the-art facilities to investigate atomic-scale phenomena in nanomaterials, contributing to fundamental understanding of hydrogen production processes and next-generation electronic devices.
