Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK)About
Parthasarathi Subramanian serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. His research focuses on synthetic organic chemistry with specialization in total synthesis and development of novel synthetic and catalytic methodologies.
His research interests include Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Total Synthesis, Synthetic Methodologies, and Catalytic Methodologies, with particular emphasis on fluorinated compounds and biomimetic approaches. His recent publications demonstrate expertise in stereoselective synthesis, C-C bond cleavage reactions, and development of novel heterocyclic compounds.
His recent publications (2014-2018) reveal a strong focus on stereoselective transformations, particularly with fluorinated cyclopropanes and development of metal-free synthetic routes. His work spans biomimetic approaches, transition metal catalysis, and novel routes to complex heterocyclic systems.
Before joining IIT Kanpur, Dr. Subramanian held postdoctoral positions at Rice University (2018-2020), Georg-August University of Göttingen (2017-2018), and ESPCI ParisTech (2015-2016), following his PhD at IIT Bombay in 2015.
His laboratory is located in Old SAC, Block C, Ground Floor at IIT Kanpur, where he continues his research in synthetic organic chemistry.
