Pankhuri Aggarwal

Dr. Pankhuri Aggarwal is an Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA (since August 2024). Previously, she held roles including Madigan Family Clinical Research Fellow at Northwestern University (2023–2024) and Predoctoral Intern at the University of Pennsylvania (2022–2023). She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Miami University (2023), an MA from the same institution (2022), and prior degrees from India including an MA from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (2016) and a B.A. from Lady Shri Ram College (2014).

Her research focuses on addressing WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic) biases in psychological frameworks, clinical tools, and treatment modalities. Key areas include cross-cultural applicability of Western theories, challenges in global mental health training programs, and developing contextually grounded mentoring strategies. She has led grants totaling over $30,000, including a 2024–2025 grant on multicultural education in clinical psychology doctoral programs (Co-PI).

Dr. Aggarwal’s work emphasizes improving mental health care access and culturally responsive training. Recent articles explore depression conceptualization in India, international student experiences during the pandemic, and intercultural competence in psychology education. She frequently presents at international conferences, advocating for inclusive practices in global mental health.

Her future projects aim to bridge gaps between theory and practice through community-engaged research and mentorship programs targeting marginalized professionals. She teaches courses like CLINICAL INTERVENT at the undergraduate level.
