Panagiotis Papageorgis

Panagiotis Papageorgis is a Professor and Dean of the School of Sciences at European University Cyprus. He holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Boston University School of Medicine (2009) and a BSc in Biology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2003). His research focuses on cancer metastasis mechanisms, tumor microenvironment dynamics, and epigenetic regulation in oncogenesis. He has coordinated and participated in multiple research projects funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation, addressing topics like immunotherapy optimization and histone acetyltransferase activity in glioblastoma.

Key achievements include over 42 peer-reviewed articles, an h-index of 22 (as of 2021), and awards such as the Young Researcher Award (2015) and multiple Henry I. Russek Student Achievement Awards. He serves on national committees for animal research ethics and Horizon Europe’s Health Configuration. His work integrates molecular biology, nanomedicine, and computational modeling to advance cancer therapy strategies.

Recent projects involve targeting tumor microenvironment normalization to enhance immunotherapy efficacy in pancreatic cancer and glioblastoma. His academic leadership includes coordinating the MSc Cancer Biology Program and overseeing infrastructure development for preclinical cancer nanomedicine evaluation.
