Pam Grossman

Pam Grossman is a Professor of Education at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE), where she served as Dean from 2014 to 2023. Previously, she held endowed professorships at Stanford University (Nomellini-Olivier Professor of Education) and the University of Washington (Boeing Professor of Teacher Education). Her research focuses on teacher preparation, instructional quality, and project-based learning, with notable contributions to frameworks like the Protocol for English Language Arts Teaching Observation (PLATO).

Her work emphasizes practice-based teacher education and the role of core teaching practices in improving classroom effectiveness.
