About
Pablo Ouro is a Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw Fellow at the University of Manchester since 2020, focusing on offshore renewable energy, computational fluid dynamics, and hydro-environmental systems. He holds a PhD in Large-Eddy Simulation of Tidal Turbines from Cardiff University (2017) and a MEng in Civil Engineering from Universidade da Coruña (2013). His research emphasizes industrial innovation in renewable energy and environmental fluid dynamics.
He concurrently serves as an Honorary Research Fellow at Cardiff University (2020–2023). Key areas of expertise include tidal and wind energy systems, turbulence modeling, and microplastic pollution dynamics. Notable projects include the Supergen ORE Impact Hub (2023–2027) and the TIGER project (2019–2022), focusing on tidal stream energy solutions.
Awardees include the JFK Prize (2015 IAHR Congress) and Osborne Reynolds Competition finalist (2016/2017). His work contributes to UN SDGs related to affordable clean energy and climate action. Research outputs span over 80 peer-reviewed articles, datasets on LES flow fields and microplastic dynamics, and media engagement on environmental pollution issues.
