Hannah Mullings is the Dr Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw Fellow in Civil Engineering and Management at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on offshore renewable energy, particularly tidal stream and offshore wind systems, alongside fluid mechanics, turbulence, and metocean conditions. She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2020) and an MEng (2015), both from the University of Manchester.
Research Interests:
- Tidal energy systems and turbine optimisation
- Turbulence modelling and fluid-structure interaction
- Sustainable engineering solutions for marine energy
Awards:
- EPSRC EDI+ Fellowship (2024)
- Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw Fellowship (2024)
- Fellow of Advance HE (2022)
- Chartered Engineer (2021)
Grants & Projects: Lead researcher on the TIGER project (2019-2022), focusing on tidal stream energy resource assessment and turbine performance. Collaborates with industry partners to bridge academic-industry gaps in renewable energy innovation.
