Assoc. Prof. Pınar Aykaç Leidholm is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey. She holds an MSc in Conservation of Cultural Heritage from METU and a PhD from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. Her research focuses on heritage sites/museums, heritage politics, and urban conservation. She authored Sultanahmet, Istanbul’s Historic Peninsula: Musealization and Urban Conservation (2022) and co-edited Architectures of Emergency in Turkey (2021). She currently co-edits the journal Heritage & Society.

Research Interests: Examining contested heritage narratives, musealization processes, and the intersection of heritage conservation with urban development. Her work addresses how heritage sites are politicized and presented to the public, particularly in conflict zones and post-disaster contexts.
