Onur Keskin

Dr. Onur Keskin is a Lecturer at Bingöl University's School of Health Services, Department of Child Care and Youth Services. He has been working at Bingöl University since 2017 and holds a doctorate in Social Work from Ankara University.

His academic journey includes:

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Dumlupınar University (2004-2008)
• Master's degree in Social Work from Kiev Politechnic Institute, National Technical University of Ukraine (2011-2013)
• Doctorate in Social Work from Ankara University (2018-2024)

Dr. Keskin's research primarily focuses on adventure therapy and outdoor activities in social work with young people. He explores how nature-based interventions can be effectively integrated into therapeutic practices and social work methodologies. His work bridges academic research with practical community applications, particularly in child and youth welfare. Recent publications demonstrate his commitment to advancing innovative approaches in social work, including the integration of adventure therapy into social work practices with young people in Turkey.

His notable awards include the Cesaret ve Feragat Nişanı (Courage and Sacrifice Medal) from the Turkish Scouting Federation, recognizing his contributions to scouting activities and youth development. Dr. Keskin actively contributes to both national and international academic networks, aiming to promote knowledge production and community engagement through research and collaboration.

With fluency in Russian and English in addition to Turkish, Dr. Keskin has a strong international perspective that informs his teaching and research.
