Omar Faruque is a Professor in the Landscape Architecture Department at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He holds a BSLA and MArch from Texas A&M University and is recognized as the youngest full Professor at Ball State University. His career spans architectural, landscape, and planning projects across Texas, Michigan, and Indiana, emphasizing integrated and holistic design approaches.
His research focuses on graphic communication as a design tool, typography in digital design, and interdisciplinary urban planning. He authored the influential book Graphic Communication as a Design Tool, documenting his pioneering theories on visual decision-making in design processes.
