Oliver Kesar is a Professor at the Department of Tourism, Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb. His career spans over 27 years, with progressive academic roles from Junior Assistant to Tenured Professor since 2023.
- Education: BSc in Tourism (1997), MSc in Tourism Policy and Development (2000), PhD in Economics of Tourism (2006).
- Administrative Roles: Head of Department of Tourism (2022/2023–2023/2024), Vice Dean for Human Resources and Infrastructure, member of Social-Humanities Council and Senate of University of Zagreb.
Research Interests focus on:
- Tourism economics and consumption patterns
- Special interest tourism and market trends
- Management of visitor attractions and collaboration networks in tourism
Scientific Awards include the 2011 Mijo Mirković award for co-authoring a university textbook. He has published 40+ papers and reviewed over 100 academic works, while teaching 20+ tourism-related courses across multiple institutions.
