Alka Obadić

Dr. Alka Obadić is a tenured Professor in Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb, University of Zagreb, since 2019. She teaches courses including Macroeconomics, Croatian Economy, and Institutions and Employment Policies across integrated undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs. She served as Head of the Department for Macroeconomics and Economic Development (2020-2022) and has held visiting professorships at universities in Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, and Malta (2009/10 onwards).

Her research focuses on labor market structural changes, employment policies, digital labor platforms, education economics, and fiscal policy. Analysis of her 15 most recent publications reveals strong emphasis on AI in education, labor market mismatch, gender dynamics in platform work, and demographic challenges like aging populations. She contributes to EU policy through HORIZON STEAMbrace research and leads Croatian-Slovenian bilateral projects.

Active in EU policy as member of the Parent Committee for Social Sciences (2024), and in public service through the Lions Club 'Slava Raškaj' and the Society of University Teachers in Zagreb (Vice President since 2023).
