Olessia Jouravlev is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cognitive Science at Carleton University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She leads the Linguistic Neurodiversity Lab (L-Neuro Lab), which investigates neurocognitive mechanisms of language/communication in both neurotypical individuals and those with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), schizophrenia, and dyslexia.
Dr. Jouravlev holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. Her research is funded by grants including NSERC Discovery Grant, NFRF Exploration Grant, and CFI JELF grant. The L-Neuro Lab utilizes advanced equipment such as fNIRS systems, EEG systems for hyperscanning, eye-trackers, and computers for behavioral testing.
Her work focuses on understanding individual differences in language processing through neuroimaging and behavioral methods. She currently accepts applications from prospective undergraduate and graduate students.
