Noriko Tan

Dr. Noriko Tan is a Lecturer in the Management and Organisation Department at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School since January 2023. Previously, she held roles such as Adjunct Instructor (2020–2021) and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Singapore Management University (2020–2022). She earned her PhD in Organisational Behaviour from NUS (2020). Her research focuses on AI in education, mindfulness, workplace gossip, and leadership, with publications in journals like Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes and Journal of Business and Psychology. She actively presents at international conferences, exploring topics such as negotiation dynamics and remote work challenges.

Dr. Tan teaches Leadership, Decision-making, Negotiation, and Teams across BBA, MBA, and Executive Education programs. Her teaching emphasizes interactive methods like case studies and role-playing to bridge theory and practice. She co-founded Brainnao Pte Ltd and has non-academic experience as a Project Manager at Towers Watson and Senior Consultant at Spire Research. She mentors students in field projects, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.

Research Interests: Her work examines the dual effects of workplace gossip on performance and well-being, the role of mindfulness in negotiations, and the psychological impacts of remote work. Recent studies include analyzing how video conferencing affects productivity and well-being, and the mediating role of performance pressure in workplace gossip.

Consulting & Outreach: She advises organizations through student-led projects, offering practical solutions to real-world challenges. This hands-on approach enhances student learning while strengthening academic-industry ties. Dr. Tan holds a Certified Executive Coach certification from ICF, further supporting her leadership and coaching initiatives.
