Noriko Shima

Noriko Shima serves as a Senior Lecturer and Accompanist in the Department of Wind & Percussion Instruments at Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she has been a répétiteur since 1999, providing essential piano collaboration for wind and percussion students in repertoire preparation and performance training.

Her academic foundation includes:

• Piano studies at Tokyo College of Music under Emiko Harimoto
• Advanced training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Noel Flores

Specializing in chamber music and collaborative piano, Shima maintains an active international performance career across Japan, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Italy. Her expertise centers on ensemble work with wind/percussion instruments, evidenced by her recording "Gansch meets Höfs" with renowned trumpeters Hans Gansch and Mathias Höfs.

Her artistic recognition includes winning Japan's prestigious PTNA Piano Competition.
