Nora Krinitsky

Nora Krinitsky is a Lecturer at the Residential College of the University of Michigan and serves as the Director of the Prison Creative Arts Project. She earned her PhD in History from the University of Michigan in 2017. Her work bridges academic instruction with community engagement, particularly in carceral contexts.

• Specializes in urban history, African American history, and the history of the American carceral state
• Teaches courses in both the Social Theory & Practice program and the First-Year Writing Seminar program
• Coordinates the Prison Creative Arts Project, which connects students and faculty with incarcerated artists
